A collaborative approach to therapy.
Valerie Levy, LCSW
I am a licensed clinical social worker with four years of post-graduate training at a New York City psychoanalytic institute. I work collaboratively with my patients, helping them lead more stable, fulfilling lives that include a better work-life balance and stronger relationship dynamics.
I have experience working with individuals with depression, anxiety, relationship and self-esteem concerns. I aim to create a non-judgmental and comfortable environment that allows for open exploration and for you to truly be heard. Each person has a richly unique personality, and each therapeutic experience will be individualized. I value and honor the uniqueness of your life story. I work with you supportively to unravel the pieces and help you build anew.
The mental health field is an ever-evolving one, and I am committed to keeping current on new research, emerging treatment modalities, and other relevant training to enable me to best help my clients. In addition to independent study, I co-chair the Psychoanalytic Society at the Training Institute for Mental Health, a psychoanalytic training institute in Manhattan where I organize workshops, lectures, and training on various topics related to psychotherapy. Besides my private practice, I am also on the auxiliary board of Mount Sinai Hospital.
